the whole story

This began as two people traveling, not as a business plan. Here is the longer version.

Ana teaching a yoga class in India

ana marta

Ana is a photographer and video artist, and a yoga teacher. Portuguese, and for years based fully behind a screen ~ editing, shooting, always connected.

“i've had to step more and more away from screens,” she wrote after a long stretch offline. “i would spend countless hours in front of my computer to the point it was really affecting my health. So I decided to make some changes, simplify and let go.”

arthur

Arthur paints, sings, and runs singing circles under the name sing to remember. French, more of a storyteller than Ana, and not shy about talking of God and Oneness.

He walks into the forest at night and sings whatever comes. “Un chant improvisé qui vient du cœur ou d'ailleurs,” he wrote ~ an improvised chant that comes from the heart, or somewhere else.

how it started

how it all began

Last year, Arthur and I travelled to India, where we spent three months exploring, living, and learning.

During this time, we had the idea of bringing some beautiful organic fabrics home and creating clothes for ourselves. But the idea grew, and we thought: “Why not make a few more pieces to bring home and share with friends and family?” And so this project was born.

We produce in small quantities, and all garments currently come in one size. All items are made from organic cotton, with some also incorporating bamboo and banana leaf fibre. We use natural dyes for the colours.

the label

Every piece carries a small label, sewn in by hand ~ the same mark that gave this site its colour, its plum, its quiet way of signing things.

“There's a relaxation, a different sense of time,” Ana wrote, “and beautiful starry skies at night.” That pace is in the clothes too ~ nothing rushed, nothing forced.

We really want to create, and wear, something that is good for the planet and good for us. Clothes that feel good on the skin and bring harmony, ease, and simplicity.

We hope these clothes, in their simple and humble way, remind you that, in the end, you are love.

Thank you. We hope you enjoy having a little piece of this co-creation with you, and that these pieces feel good on you too.

les petits êtres

A colouring book Arthur started drawing in India, without a plan. There is now a second one too, made for a niece or nephew on the way, to fill in with photos and colour of their own. It is in French, and it is its own thing ~ have a look.
